During Christmastime, I prefer listening to old-fashioned Carols.
Throughout the year, my preference is contemporary music.
But, every December, classical sounds evoke moods of longstanding traditions.

However, I remain open to modern Christmas music.
and, no album captures this non-conformity better than an 3-song EP from Jimi Hendrix, titled "And a Happy New Year".
Released in 1974, the songs were apparently recorded in 1968 & 1969, yet released posthumously five years later.
It also seems, this EP was re-released in 1999, using the title Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
